Polar Bear Camp Tuscazoar
February 18-19, 2017

It was unusually warm for a Polar Bear weekend. We braved 70 degree temperatures in February. Upon arrival at camp everyone donned their packs for the short hike to the campsite. Once at our campsite setting up was easy since we were using Adirondacks. There was no need to set up a dining fly because the weather was for clear skies all weekend. We hauled some firewood from the van to feed our campfire. It was then time for a hike to the Dover Dam. The trip went smoothly until it was time to come back. Then someone had the bright idea of taking a different trail. We almost went too far, but knew the camp was on our right so we hiked up a steep incline to find the camp. As luck would have it we made it to Pioneer Point which was exactly where we wanted to go. We spent a short time there and then hiked back to camp. Everyone was hungry and ready for a great lunch. After lunch some people worked on advancement and others just had some fun. In the evening we had a great time around the campfire doing skits and a few songs. After a good night's sleep we awoke, packed our gear, had a quick breakfast, and hiked out. It turned out to be an amazing weekend especially because the weather was so beautiful. The Tuscazoarians were Anthony, Dominic, Andrew, Alex, Adam L, Adam K, JohnLuke, DavidPatrick, Kyle, Mr. Makowski, Mr. Deran, and Mr. Nenadovich.
